Gerry Sharvin
Gerry attained a Master’s Degree [Honours] in Disability Management from University College Dublin in 2002. Previous to that Gerry attained a Higher Diploma [Honours] in Social & Vocational Rehabilitation and a Diploma [Honours] in Special Needs & Continuous Education.
During his 19 years employment with Irish Wheelchair Association, Gerry has gained considerable experience within the various operational departments. Whilst working in the Training Department he has successfully delivered many specialised programmes, such as Disability Awareness Training and Manual / Person Handling & Hoist Training, to major organisations and industry
Other areas of training expertise include HACCP [Food Safety Training]; Occupational First Aid; Cardiac First Response; and Safety & Health at Work Training. Gerry holds Institute of Occupational Safety and Health [IOSH] Certification; is a member of Irish Safety & Health Trainers Network; National Back Exchange [UK]; Irish Institute of Training and Development; and past Chair of the Irish Association of Rehabilitation Professionals [IARP]. Gerry recently qualified in ‘Accessibility Auditing’ at the University of Ulster - Continuing Education in the School of the Built Environment.
