Disability Awareness Training

The aim of this interactive course is to provide participants with an awareness and understanding of the issues encompassing disability; taking into account relevant anti-discrimination and equality of opportunity legislation.  The course also addresses general / specific information on disability; including disability etiquette.

Course Content Includes:

• Legislation in relation to disability
• People with varying ability: physical, vision impaired, learning difficulty, deaf and hard of hearing
• Communication barriers and Politically Correct Language
• Societal barriers that impact negatively on disability
• Inclusive Service Provision
• Open Forum with People with Disability

Each attendee will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of the course
